The reason for this is that the headphone output is fine, but the speaker output is unstable and noise is heard during playback. Therefore, we recommend using it as a standalone headphone amplifier with USB DAC or for those who want to repair it. The sound quality is typical of TEAC, and although it is somewhat hard, it has high resolution and clear sound contours. Being a desktop model, the sound is ample and it can drive high impedance headphones without any problems.
