Description: TEAC EQA-5 - 10 Band Stereo Graphic Equalizer HiFi Component- READ DESCRIPTION The equalizer has been tested and found to be partially working. I suspect that this unit sat idle for a few years at least. The unit is partialy working. The right channel seems to be functioning with some scratchy audio when adjusting the pots. The left channel has more issues. The 30Hz, 250Hz, and 16KHz pots have issues. The 30 and 250 stop functioning properly at the top of the range. It causes some of the lights on the other knobs to go out as pictured. The audio is also extremely scratchy and will cut out completely intermittently. I think that the 16kHz pot is completely dead. I have put a little electrical contact cleaner in the pots and moved them around a bit. There was significant improvement from initial testing, but the faults I described still persist. I suspect that the variable pots still have oxidized and/or dirty contacts which may improve with use. The unit is also old so capacitors could also be part of the issue. There are some scuffs and scratches on the housing and a small area of rust on the bottom of the left side as pictured. See pictures for details.
