Description: The TBM-15 is a popular survey meter/geiger counter that will accept a variety of GM tube and scintillator based probes. This listing includes both a TBM-15 Survey Meter and a P-15 Thin Window Pancake GM Probe analogous to the very common Ludlum 44-9 alpha beta gamma pancake probe. This unit has been inspected, cleaned, and calibrated by a professional Radiation Protection Technician trained in Oak Ridge, TN by some of the most trusted companies in radiation detection instruments. The P-15 Pancake Probe is neat as it has two slots milled in the sides of the head, allowing it to mate with two grooves under the meter to be used one handed (see picture 3). Check source in photos is NOT INCLUDED per eBay policy. Listing is for 1 TBM-15 Survey Meter, 1 P-15 Pancake Probe, 1 3ft BNC cord, and calibration paper work. Unit passed calibration in Feb 2024 and the current certification is valid until 2/2025. Year calibration isn’t something the vast majority of users need to worry about as it wouldn’t drift much, if at all, unless the calibration potentiometers are moved or unit has had GM tube replaced again. A current calibration certification however, does allow the purchaser to buy with confidence and learn the behavior of the certified meter which allows errant behavior/readings to be recognized years down the road. The case and probe is powder coated steel and the instrument face is anodized aluminum with a 2.5 inch diameter ruggedized meter movement for easy readings. It has alot of character, something increasing rare in modern scientific equipment. This meter has been taken care of since it’s resided in my personal collection of Technical Associates products for some time. Always stored with no batteries and in a cool, dry location.
