Description: The Tel-Instruments (TIC) T-5A power supply is built like a tank, and weighs nearly as much as one (61 pounds). It is rated for 32VDC at 15A. Fully tested, it performs well across its entire range. • Maximum measured DC output voltage: 43V (with 121VAC input). • Maximum measured AC output voltage: 141V (with 121VAC input).• Tested with 15A load. (I got a picture at 14.3A as my load resistor started smoking!) This power supply is unregulated, or brute force regulation. Use it for welding. That’s a General Radio W5 Variac in the primary for variable voltage. There is an AC output on the front panel that is off the output of the Variac. Very useful for slowly powering up other old test equipment to reform the capacitors. This one was built in late 1976. That’s the step-down transformer on the left and a filter choke on the right. Zoom in and look at the diameter of the wire coming out of the transformer and into the choke. Huge. Included is the original Belden oval power cable. These are rare now and are usually about $27+ if you can find one. This one has the correct polarity for the system. Digital download of the scanned original manual available. I suggest picking this up in person. If shipped, it will have to go in a big wooden crate.
