LOL LOL This is one for you if you like cookbooks that don't rely on pre-packaged ingredients. If I haven't counted wrong, there are 23 sections for everything from "Breads" to "Canning" with about everything in between (sandwiches, eggs, cakes, vegetables--all that). In addition, there is also a section about "food facts" (how to render fat, measuring, and so forth), menus (school lunches, weddings, Thanksgiving, to name a few), "wines," "high altitude cooking"(!), and yet another section about "parties." This particular volume from 1940 will be well-loved! Ruth Berolzheimer died in 1965 after a long and illustrious career as a “cooking and child welfare expert” (according to her obituary). She was for years the director of the Culinary Arts Institute and the editor/author of several books. The American Woman's Cookbook was originally published in 1938 by the directors of the College of Home Economics of Cornell University, under the auspices of the Delineator Institute – and it seems that it was descended from an earlier Delineator Cookbook. The Delineator Cookbook was derived from a fashion magazine called The Delineator, originally produced in the 1870s by the Butterick sewing pattern company. The book contains over 10,000 recipes, and went to many printings of many editions. It is from a non-pet and smoke-free environment. All purchases must be paid within three days, or they will relist automatically.
