Description: 【Description】J. C. Leyendecker, one of the most popular artists of the Golden Age of American Illustration, won the hearts of the public with his stylish and striking depictions of handsome men and glamorous women. His instantly recognizable patterns, often referred to as the "Leyendecker look," helped to create the face of the United States, which gave birth to many of the designs that are still known today, and created a brand identity for advertising. To this day, however, not much is known about the man behind the art. Leyendecker was called "the master of the magazine cover" by Norman Rockwell, and his illustrations, later to become his personal favorites, graced the covers of all the major magazines. In advertising, Leyendecker's work supported the promotion of a wide range of products, from cutting-edge men's clothing to Ivory soap and Kellogg's Corn Flakes. Perhaps best known, however, is his portrait of "The Man in Arrow Colors," which made him the first male sex symbol and the first advertising star to be popular with both sexes. This image of a refined, elegant gentleman struck a chord with the millions who saw it, and sold a glamorous lifestyle to a frenzied society. Few people know, however, that the man in the arroyo was modeled after Charles Beach, Leyendecker's longtime lover. To avoid public scrutiny of his homosexuality, Leyendecker did not discuss his personal life in detail. This book, along with more than 600 original Leyendecker drawings, photographs, advertisements, and magazine covers, unravels many of the mysteries that have remained until this day and reveals the true nature of his life. 【Payment】 Please pay within 3 days after your purchase. 【Shipping】Japan PostDHLFedex Economy Shipping:No trackingStandard Shipping: With tracking 【Returns】 We accept returns within 30 days of purchase. <Return conditions>-Request for return within 30 days of purchase.-Return costs are borne by the Seller.-Please inquire before application. 【International Buyers – Please Note:】 Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges.
