Description: Offered is the vintage soft cover book "The Book of Posters", published by Art Education, Inc. of Blauvelt, New York and the Abingdon Press of Nashville. No author is stated. The book has a 1900 copyright date and appears to be a first edition. This book about the history of the poster contains dozens of examples of posters from around the world, many in color and some full-page, with accompanying explanatory text. There is an emphasis on early and mid-20th century work, including 1960s-era pieces from Peter Max and several rock bands. This is a rare, possibly unique find; at the time of original listing I could not find any other copies for sale on eBay or anywhere else. The large thin book is approx. 16" x 11" and contains 80 pages. It is in fair to good condition. The soft cover has considerable wear on the spine, mostly at the top and bottom. The front and back are in better condition, with no tears, although there is some edge wear, small corner creases and light wrinkling in places. I see no missing or torn pages. Most of the pages are fairly well-attached to the cover but there are a few that are disconnected. There is a gift inscription on the first page but otherwise I see no writing in the book. Please take a moment to look at some of the other items in my eBay store.
