Description: This lot features the following three 5.25"x7.75" hardcover volumes in The Fine-Art Library series published in 1885 by Cassell & Company. Each volume focuses on the history of painting in a different European country. There are many black-and-white illustrations. 1. The Flemish School of Painting (A. J. Wauters, 423 pages)2. The Dutch School of Painting (Henry Havard, 290 pages)3. The English School of Painting (Ernest Chesneau, 339 pages) They're in overall good condition. The decorated cloth boards show rubbing and edge wear, various small spots and stains. English School has a bump along the back side edge. Most corners have mild bumps or are a bit pushed-in. English School's front hinge is starting to crack and Dutch School is cracked at page 112. There are bookseller labels (Andrews & Co., Durham) to the front pastedowns. The English and Flemish volumes show foxing to the sides of the text block and light foxing to some pages. Flemish School has a few pencil marks to the series page and last page; the other volumes are unmarked. The interior is Dutch School is age-toned.
