Description: THIS IS THE REAL STATED FIRST EDITION. (PHOTO 2) I have noticed as recently as October 2024 that a seller listed a 21st Printing as a first printing. It even had an ISBN number, which certainly were not around in 1957. For book buyers, the new AI ebay listing option is going to be a nightmare. THIS IS THE TRUE FIRST EDITION; FIRST PRINTING. This book has no dust jacket and the boards are those of the Library Binding. IT IS AN EX-LIBRARY BOOK WITH A SCHOOL NAME STAMPED THREE TIMES IN THE BOOK (PHOTO 21, 22, 23). VESTIGES OF AN ENVELOPE ON REAR PASTE DOWN (PHOTO 23). NO OTHER WRITING, STAMPS OR LABELS. THERE ARE SIGNIFICANT HANDLING CREASES AND SEVERAL PAGES WITH LIGHT SOILING AND/OR FINGERPRINTS. THREE SMALL FOLDOVER CREASES WERE NOTED AND UNFOLDED (PHOTO 17 is one of them). THERE WERE A FEW PAGES WITH SMALL EDGE TEARS OF 1/2" OR LESS. THEY HAVE BEEN CLOSED WITH A TOUCH OF GLUE ON EDGES OF TEAR. (SEE PHOTOS WITH RED ARROWS- PHOTO 3, PHOTO 20 are two of them.) -ONE PAGE HAD A FULL 1.5" TEAR AND IT HAS ALSO BEEN REPAIRED (PHOTO 8) AND REALLY JUST LOOKS LIKE A CREASE NOW. - THERE WAS ALSO A CORNER CREASE TO THE MIDDLE PAGE WITH THE STAMP OF THE SCHOOL (PHOTO 22) AND A QUARTER INCH TEAR. FOLDED CREASE WAS UNFOLDED LIKELY DECADES AGO SO IT IS NOW JUST AN ADDITIONAL CREASE. (PHOTO 22). (PHOTO 17) SHOWS ONE OF THE THREE SMALL CORNER BENDS. EXTERIOR BOARDS HAVE SURFACE WEAR WITH GREATER WEAR ON EDGES AND CORNERS (PHOTO 18 & 19). This is not a high quality first printing but it is a first printing. OVERALL CONDITION IS FAIR TO GOOD MINUS. It does get a little weird when Mr. Teddy Bear starts to spank Edith the doll. PLEASE USE ZOOM FUNCTION ON ALL PHOTOS AS THEY ARE PART OF THE DESCRIPTION.
