Martha Wells is, of course, best known for her Murderbot series which has rocketed her to the heights of the science fiction universe. That said, she has been a published author since 1993 (the first Murderbot novella, All Systems Red, came out in 2017), better known for her fantasy series than for the hard science fiction of the Murderbot books. Her first fantasy novel was nominated for both the Compton Crook Stephen Tall Memorial Award and the William L. Crawford IAFA Fantasy Award for Best First Novel. She has since won four Hugo Awards, four Locus Awards and two Nebula awards.
