Description: The Revised Statutes of the State of Utah, in force Jan. 2, 1898. Lincoln: State Journal Co., Printers, 1897Vol 1, (7” x 10 ¼”) pp, xx, 1224. Tanned calf, gold lettering on red and black morocco. Good copy. Pages are clean and free of writing, rips, or bends. There is a minor water stain on the bottom inch of the pages, a food stain on page 115, and a minor pencil mark on page iii. Various minor damages of a similar manner may be found sporadically throughout. The binding is really good and feels sturdy. The leather binding on the covers and spine have damage as such that the boards are visible in various places. Most serious at the top edges, which almost appears as though it was burned. The lettering on the spine is faded, and part of the title has been ripped off. There are plenty of dings, scratches, and stains present on the front and back cover. Utah became a state on January 6, 1896, making this book an early part of Utah history. This book was acquired from the University of Utah Marriott Library after it was deaccessioned from the collection. Thank you for viewing this Listing.
