Description: This cheerful set of 8 round coasters was made in Occupied Japan between 1945 and 1952. The stamp on the box and all coasters says HAND PAINTED - ALCOHOL PROOF - MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN. The coasters are 4" in diameter and each 2 show 4 different motives - men from different nationalities lifting a glass, saying "cheers" in their language. Please zoom in on the photos. The material is a lacquered papermaché. The surface is very smooth but some coasters have signs of age. The box looks quite vintage! Will be shipped quickly and very well protected.
