From the Nashville Banner: "One of the younger school of American writers now at work in the Latin quarter of Paris is Jennings Perry of Jackson, Tenn., who has just finished a new novel called 'The Windy Hill.' He chose the title from a line in one of the poems of Rupert Brooke. Mr. Perry is living at 15 Rue Brea while in the French capital" (November 30, 1925, p. 7). This was Jennings Perry's first (and apparently only) novel, published when he was just twenty-six years old. Set in Tennessee and New York City, the story follows John Starr and his relationship with Clita, a femme fatale who "plays God" with the men in her life. The book had little success, garnering a few, tepid reviews. A solid & presentable copy. Scarce, especially in the original dust jacket. Ships well-packed in a box.
