Thermofilter Imported Rusticated Briar Pipe Made in Italy 60's-early 70's

Description: This pipe looks as though it was used very little by its owner/collector. See photo for details. I did research on these pipes and their historyI have cleaned/restored the pipe completely, micromeshed the stem and reamed/alcohol salt bathed the bowl. This can be smoked upon receipt as are all pipes I sell here. I won’t sell something that I would not smoke myself. Filter tenon and stem in excellent shape without a minute amount of tooth chatter marks (see close ups). A very nice collectible pipe from the 60's to early 70's era. Started about 1964 and continued till about73/74. It was imported and sold by Mastercraft.Mastercraft used to import "Thermofilter" pipes, which were originally manufactured by the Italian company Fratelli Rossi, and then sold them under their own brand name in the market. The Fratelli Rossi Company was a pipe manufacturer that was once the world's largest. The company was founded in the 1800s by Ferdinando Rossi in Varese, Italy. The company grew to include a sawmill, power plant, and departments for manufacturing each pipe part. History The company closed in 1985, but Savinelli now produces pipes under the Rossi label. The pipes are made in the Savinelli factory and feature Savinelli quality. Brothers Rossi ("Fratelli') The company was founded by two brothers, Carlo and Giulio Caremi (thus Fratelli), Carlo was the older brother and was already working in 1890. Giulio was referred to as an industrialist in an 1890 deed.Mastercraft would import these pipes from Italy and then sell them under their own "Mastercraft Thermofilter" label, essentially rebranding the product.
