All pieces are footed, decorated with ornate bands and have hollow scroll vine design handles. Lids are decorated with applied figural flower finials. No monograms. Produced by James Bogert of Newburgh, NY (1843-1856) for Ball, Thompkins & Black - successors to Marquand & Co., NYC. c. 1845. This splendid set measures: Teapot is 11" tall, 10 3/4" wide from the handle to the spout and weighs 1,114 grams or 35.93 ozs Troy; Sugar bowl is 9 1/2" tall, 8 1/2" wide across the handles and weighs 788.9 grams or 25.44 ozs Troy; Creamer is 8" tall, 6 1/2" wide across the handle and the spout and weighs 406 grams or 13.09 ozs Troy; Total weight is 2,308.9 grams or 74.48 ozs Troy. The set has minor dents (see pictures). The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
