While the Gibson Nashville corrected a few of the obvious flaws of the ABR-1 - no rattling, buzzing retaining wire to hold down the saddles, too narrow an intonation adjustment range, warpage under stress - it introduced a few of its own. Notably a deader tone, the need to raise the tailpiece much higher for the string to clear the rear of the bridge body, and the more difficult intonation adjustment from the rear of the bridge instead of the front. But a seemingly simple change to an abr-1 was in fact quite a headache. The ABR-1 and Nashville are different sizes and not interchangeable.
