Description: This is a rare early version of the classic "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas" by Jules Verne in good condition. Printed in London in 1885, by Sampson Low, Marston, Searle & Rivington of Fleet Street, the book is heavily illustrated with 112 charming black and white engravings by Henri Theophile Hildibrand. (1824-97). The book is in good condition, but has a loose spine which should be easily repairable. The cover and spine have bright lettering with minimal wear. There is spotting and staining throughout the book, mostly to the front pages, but is relatively clean. The only markings are the name of the original owner and date 1885. (See Photographs).
