Description: I have for sale a medal that commemorated the 1908 visit to San Diego, California by the U.S. Battle Fleet on its voyage around the world. This medal is listed in the So Called Dollar catalog as HK351. This medal is brass and it was gilded when new, with some gilt still remaining, it is 1 3/8 inches in diameter, encapsulated in an NGC holder and graded AU 50 by then, the obverse has several spots, see photos. The obverse at the rim reads SOUVENIR VISIT OF U.S. NAVAL FLEET - PACIFIC COAST. In the center it shows a military bust and reads REAR ADMIRAL EVANS - 1908 - "FIGHTING BOB".
