Description: One last box of minerals turned up. This mineral specimen didn't have one of Dad's labels. However, someone thought it might be Basalt. I don't know this for sure so look carefully at the photos and make your own decision. The specimen weighs about 8.924 grams and it measures roughly 24 by 17 by 16 mm. With his PhD in mineralogy, my father loved to collect rocks. He took great pride in his mineral collection which he carefully organized by chemical groups. Since he recently passed away I'm tasked with finding his treasures a new home. Just so you know, I do send all the tags that he had with each mineral because they tell a story of the travels of the specimen. If they were with Dad's specimen I included them but you may have to look at the very bottom of the box to find them. I have added one of Dad's identification tags with what little information I have on the specimen in case you want to continue to seek out the scientific data and add it to the tag. I continue to have loads of rocks and rough material to re-home so I'm still posting more of my father's rock collections (rough material, cut stones, pendants, a few more mineral specimens, and other rock related items) and will do so off and on for many more months so do make my store one of your favorites and check in often to see what new items are listed. I try to list new items for auction every Tuesday. I will gladly combine shipping for purchases made on the same day. If you win more than one auction I've tried to set it up so the weights of the items will determine the final cost of postage and will automatically combine the shipping. However, since these stones are so lightweight it might be better for you to ask for an invoice before paying if you purchase more than one. That way I can get you a true weight on them.
