Jack Rabbit keeps getting his words mixed up, Harriet Hedgehog can hardly stay awake, and Olivia Dormouse who, despite being the smallest in class, is very bossy and tells everybody off when they get things wrong. Very quickly Uproot uses his incredible sense of smell to save the school and becomes an instant hero. The name Uproot Snort came to Tricia in one of her dreams and everything has gradually developed from there. Tricia and Keith live in rural surroundings in North Yorkshire, England, with their two cats and two ducks. They have plenty of visitors to their garden including Hares, Pheasants, Hedgehogs and wild birds. The one animal that they do not see in their garden is a Wild Boar, but perhaps one day Uproot Snort will call to say hello.
