Description: 2nd Production, made in 1954, M1 Carbine Bayonet Knife with a blade length of 6.75" and a overall length of 11.5". Blade shows some light faded parkerized finish, the point end of the blade shows a small spot of pitting on both sides. Excellent working press-stud, comes with a excellent scabbard, USM8A1 made by BM Co. Top of guard shows US markings with Imperial markings. The pommel is also stamped "I" on the end which many believe is a Boston Firm, Isthmian Metals Inc., was the manufacture of these latch plates. Imperial had a government contract given to them in 1954. Bottom of guard is stamped with the DoD cartouche. Meaning this was accepted by the Govt's Department of Defense. A nice one! See photos.
