Description: This is a vintage Imperium Neptuni Regis Order of Neptune issued to a Private David Weinstein of the U.S.M.C.R. on 23 June 1942 whilst aboard the U.S.S. Alchiba. What makes this significant as this Private was heading to the Pacific Theater and would disembark from this ship to fight at Guadalcanal in what was some of the toughest fighting in WWII. This ship also took a hit from a Japanese midget sub torpedo and the man who signed it John S. Freeman earned a Naval Cross for his actions in saving this ship from sinking into the depths of the Pacific. Later to become a Rear Admiral in the Navy. Thanks for looking.
