Very Fine Antique Reverse Oil Painting On Glass Depicting Monk w/Provenance

Description: Winner receives a very fine antique reverse oil painting on glass depicting a Monk. The painting is unsigned and comes with provenance from the Jordan, Marsh & Co, Boston, Ma. Fine Art Room, with the original label still affixed to the verso, shown magnified in picture 7. The painting itself is in excellent original condition. There are no paint losses or chips in the glass. There are a few very minor scratches on the glass as you would expect for a work this age. They are only visible at certain angles, but need to be mentioned. The original gold gesso gallery frame does have multiple losses including a 4" section along the left edge, shown magnified in picture 6, and another 2" section in the bottom right corner. There are also a few sections that are fragile, and may come loose during shipment. The frame measures roughly 9.5" x 15.25", with the image itself measuring roughly 5.5" x 11.5". Please note the pictures may not be as clear as we'd like due to the settings on the camera to reduce the glare.
