Description: "THE GOD HERME'S"Maxfield Parrish1912 Super rare Maxfield Parrish "Hearst's" magazine cover from September 1912. Herme's was an Olympian God of trade, wealth, luck, fertility, animal husbandry, sleep, language, thieves and travel. One of the cleverest and most mischievous of the 12 Olympian Gods. Cover is 6 1/2" x 9 1/2" and is the front cover of Hearst's magazine with advertising on reverse. Out of all the covers Maxfield Parrish did for Hearst's this is the most difficult to find! Good condition for 112 years old does show the usual trim to edges. The trim is common because the cover was over sized for actual magazine and hung over edges and became tattered. Great color with no fade. There are some tiny dings to paper showing break of paper to white underneath. All the dings are in the brown area of robe and rock. Track Page Views WithAuctiva's Counter
