Description: VERY RARE Fenton Glass Basket Lotus Mist Burmese Glossy Blank Unpainted HTF. This is an INCREDIBLY RARE Fenton Glass basket in the highly collectible color Lotus Mist. This piece was never giving the sandblasted finish to make it satin, and was left blank (never painted) because it was determined to be a “second” denoted by the sandblasted F on the bottom. A Fenton second could mean one of a few things: (1) the pieces is flawed or didn’t meet quality standards (we found no issues with it upon inspection, as the color, size, weight, and quality were as expected so this is unlikely) or (2) it was an extra made for a limited line in case something happened to one of others produced and thus was not needed to be finished (this is much more likely, as the “finished” version of this piece- The Dancing Wildflowers” basket-was a numbered limited edition piece.) Often these unfinished, but still excellent quality pieces were sold at the Fenton Gift Shop. As stated, it is in excellent condition. It has no chips, cracks, flea bites, or repairs. The color is beautifully vibrant, especially without the satin finish. The handle is well attached and even has its maker’s mark. This would truly make a wonderful addition to a collector of rare or hard-to-procure Fenton. I was unable to find another of it anywhere online, making it likely one of a kind or one of a very small amount of extras or seconds made.
