Description: The renowned Candelario Medrano is recognized as one of the top figural ceramists in Mexico. He lived in Santa Cruz de las Huertas in the state of Jalisco, one of the largest pottery-producing states in Mexico. He started out making smaller hand-made toys and whistles and was later encouraged by Jorge Wilmot, a well-known Mexican artisan, to make larger pieces like apartment buildings, arks, buses , and more. He was the adopted son of Julian Acero, the top ceramic toy maker in the village. Medrano soon learned to create his highly individualized pieces and eventually created many ceramic pieces. This is a VERY RARE Yellow Bus which you WILL NOT find another other than to reference this beautiful piece and the price it sold for in the past. The artist has unfortunately passed on leaving us with very few examples of buses he made painted yellow. I am only aware of a couple of examples personally with this being one of them. I am maybe bias but I believe this to be the most beautiful of all of the vehicles that Candelario Medrano has done. Please feel free to reach out with questions, and thank you for viewing our post.
