Description: Victorian 10k Gold Clear Foiled and Emerald Green Paste Belcher Drop Earrings Click images to enlarge Description Offered today is a sweet pair of late Victorian paste earrings, in solid 10k yellow gold. The term "paste" was given to melted glass with additive to make it sparkle, which was poured into molds to imitate real gemstones, dating back to the mid 1800s. These are screw-on earrings and are estimated to be circa 1910 - 1915 from the style. Each earring contains a 4.2mm cushion-cut foil-back clear paste crystal set in four prongs at the top. Beneath the clear stone, dangling freely, is a 5.2mm gorgeous emerald green glass paste stone, Belcher / buttercup set. Note the nice X shaped construction underneath the bottom of the "emerald". The mountings are solid 10k yellow gold, both stamped. These errings are about 3/4" long and they weigh 2 grams. They are in EXCELLENT vintage condition, especially considering their age!
