Description: The listing is for a Victorian silver plate teapot or coffee pot which was manufactured by the Rogers & Smith Silver Company in Quadruple Plate. The mystical Assyrian - Assyrian Head pattern was manufactured by the Meriden Britannia Company in 1886-1887 and cataloged as "Assyrian". The mark on the base of the coffee pot indicates that it was manufactured by the Rogers & Smith Silver Company between 1877 - 1900, Meriden CT., in quadruple plate. The hollow ware and flatware pieces varied as to if they were with or with out heads. Other manufactures soon produced the pattern in variances designs. There are at least 10 different heads on flatware and hollow ware in the Assyrian Head pattern by various manufactures of silver plate. Please check your pattern to be sure this is a match before purchasing. The teapot or coffee pot features the bust of a Assyrian woman on the base of the spout in exceptional high relief details and a floral repousse design. Condition: The Assyrian teapot is in good condition as shown in the pictures with bright silver plate. The inside is clean and usable and there are no monograms. The base of the pot has defects as shown. I cant determine if it was due to the manufacture process or occurred after. Size: The teapot stands 10.5 inches tall and measures 9.5 inches wide measuring from the handle to the spout. Shipping: We gladly combine shipping whenever possible.
