The addition of this strap was an improvement from the earlier models. This strap helps to keep the center of the frame off your back and prevent the frame from pinching or making contact with the center of your back. Even though the earlier frame models do not have the races (brackets) in the middle of the frame, once tightened down the strap does not move around.I generally install this strap on every ruck that I restore. You can really feel the difference when this strap is in place, it makes your ruck ride like a Cadillac.These are available with Olive Drab or Brown 1" webbing to match the rest of your straps.
