Its mission was to conduct reconnaissance and surveillance operations along the border, gather intelligence on enemy movements and activities, and engage in hit-and-run attacks against enemy forces.The members of the team were highly skilled in guerrilla warfare and were trained in a variety of skills, including infiltration, marksmanship, demolition, and survival techniques. They were known for their ability to operate for extended periods in hostile environments and to conduct missions deep inside enemy territory.The Ghost of the Border team played a significant role in several key operations during the war, including Operation Lam Son 719 in 1971.
