A caryatid is a sculpted female figure serving as an architectural support taking the place of a column or a pillar supporting an entablature on her head. The best-known and most-copied examples are those of the six figures of the Caryatid Porch of the Erechtheion on the Acropolis at Athens. Our beautiful figurine is 10” tall, 2 1/2” wide and 2 3/8” deep. A great decorative piece for a mantle or bookshelf. In very good vintage condition, no chips, cracks or repairs.
