Description: Vintage 1940's set of 4 John Middleton pipe tobacco glass jars with original paper labels and tax stamps still attached. The jars are all different flavors, including Perique, Latakia, Walnut, and Virginia. The jars taper a bit, and are smaller at the bottom than the top (see Measurements below). Note on dating: These came from a collection of John Middleton tobacco products, all acquired by the previous owner in the early 1940's. They were kept in the same box until now. Further, a tax stamp--NOT INCLUDED WITH THESE JARS (see my listing "Vintage 1940's John Middleton Tobacco Boxes & Blending Booklet & Tax Stamp")--was cancelled with a December 1943 date. Measurements:Height: 3.6875" Width (top of jar): 2.375"Width: (bottom of jar): 1.75" Condition: The labels are in great shape and appear to be firmly attached. The tax stamps were ripped when the jars were opened, save one which only has an abrasion on the rear. The glass is in great and don't appear to have any chips or cracks. The interiors were never cleaned and retain original scents, but should clean out beautifully if so desired. See pics for more details.
