Description: ***********This is a midsize watch, measuring approximately 30 mm excluding the crown, approximately 32.5 mm including the crown and approximately 16 mm between the lugs. As clearly seen in several of the pictures the top right lug has a slight bow/bend to it. Given that this watch is approximately 60 years old and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended.***********This vintage 1960's Avalon, which came from the estate of its original owner, has an explorer-style black "RA SWISS" signed dial that under the damaged crystal shows difficult to see hand drag and age-related wear. The lume, which no longer glows after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The midsize all stainless steel case shows honest wear with minor signs of oxidation. As clearly seen in several of the pictures the top right lug has a slight bow/bend to it. The outside of the case back is stamped "ALL STEEL SWISS WATERPROOF ANTIMAGNETIC INCABLOC." The inside of the case back is stamped "AVALON WATCH CO." followed by "96." The crystal needs to be replaced. The 17 jewels unadjusted Swiss "AVALON WATCH CO" stamped manual wind movement keeps accurate time. After recently winding the sharply threaded, non-screwdown crown 33 full revolutions the movement had an approximate 41 hour power reserve period. Given that this watch is approximately 60 years old and considering the movement's unknown service history (there are multiple watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back) a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended.This watch measures approximately 30 mm excluding the crown, approximately 32.5 mm including the crown and approximately 16 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the fixed bezel, is approximately 6.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 8 mm. Given the vintage nature of this watch and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is recommended.
