Description: Vintage Victorinox Backpacker/President (Climber) 91mm Swiss Army Knife - Victoria - 1961-1969 A Swiss Army Knife with the Climber tool configuration, or very similar, was available for a long time before descriptive names were used. Early vintage versions have a clip-point small blade. This model has been known as the Backpacker in some regions and was marketed in the US as the President. In 1961 the original triangular awl was redesigned and given a sharpened edge, making it more suitable for use as a reamer. The sewing-eye was added to the reamer in 1985. The shackle was introduced in 1902, was typically made of brass and featured, usually as an option, on many Victorinox models up until about 1969, when it was replaced with the spilt-ring attachment method.
