Description: ***********The Bulova 2182 electronically controlled tuning fork movement received a complete overhaul in September 2024. Although no paperwork will be included my watchmaker's service marking is etched on the inside of the case back. It runs strong, keeps time to within specs (+-30 seconds per day) and the date wheel rolls over as it should.***********This seldom seen vintage 1970 Bulova Accutron Deep Sea, which came from the estate of its original owner, has a near pristine matte black dial and the original lume, which emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The black and red acrylic bezel, which shows wear and rotates smoothly bidirectionally, presents nicely. The all stainless steel case shows honest wear and oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "BULOVA PATENTED STAINLESS STEEL 666 FEET" with "157470" and "NO" stamped along the inner edge. The inside of the case back is stamped "CB" followed by "702-1" and "SWISS." The crystal, which I believe is original, shows light scratching and dings. The 13 jewels "U.S.A.,""BULOVA" and "2182" stamped electronically controlled tuning fork movement with hack and quickset date features keeps time to within specs (+-30 seconds per day) and the date wheel rolls over at 12 am. The movement received a complete overhaul in September 2024. Although no paperwork will be included my watchmaker's service marking is etched on the inside of the case back. The quickset date function works flawlessly by turning the crown clockwise until the desired date has been reached. The hack feature works by pulling out the crown which stops the seconds hand. When the crown is pushed back in the seconds hand resumes moving. This watch measures approximately 39 mm excluding the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11.5 mm. The lug to lug distance measures approximately 46 mm.Although the movement keeps time to within specs and the date wheel rolls over without issue there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.
