Vintage 1970's AKG D330BT Dynamic cardioid microphone w pouch & clip Shure # 1

Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a 1970's / 80's era AKG model D330BT dynamic "hyper" cardioid microphone made in Austria with outstanding sound characteristics and easily on par with most great dynamic super cardioid microphones you could possibly think of. I would actually compare the sound to be on par with (or better than) an American made Shure SM58 or as good as an Electro voice RE16 microphone. This mic was actually called the SM58 killer because it just sounds that incredible and has dual adjustable switches giving you a superior range of sound over most mics of that era and even today. This was a top of the line mic for AKG and wasn't cheap to buy. If you have never heard one of these before...be prepared to be blown away by the warm smooth tone. This mic comes with the mic clip and mic pouch shown in which to store. This is currently the only D330BT I have and I probably won't have another for months to come. Pic # 2 is from an old AKG catalog showing this model in a couple different variants. The D330BT had a few more built in adjustments then the D320B. The D320B has the adjustable bass drop off switch with 3 selections to choose from and it works perfectly. Pic # 3 shows several of the band members of ABBA using this very model while performing live. These 70's, 80's era AKG models came with the standard gold metal finish which was a signature AKG look. As you can see there is extremely lite wear on the gold finish of this mic but it's free of any dents or fractures. Just a few tiny scuff marks. The front screen is metal and has an uber modern / contemporary look. There is no tarnish, odors or dents on the front screen. The original pop filter is in excellent shape and did not need to be replaced. This mic comes with a bass roll off switch on the handle as seen in pic # 9. The top bass drop off switch will provide more or less bass depending on your needs with the flick of a switch and there are 3 settings while the bottom switch is a presence switch. You'll see in the data sheet in pic # 2 how these affect the tone. The mic is uni-directional and is great at cancelling out any background noise. Again...a superb mic for any live performance and worth every penny. The mic comes with a mic clip that works very well for this mic and looks fantastic. The clip grips the mic perfectly and really compliments the look of the mic. It will screw onto any desk or floor stand and has a wide range of tilt up or down. The mic takes a standard XLR cable which is not provided but very easy to acquire. The XLR pins on this mic were cleaned ensuring a perfect signal once a cable is attached. The blue vinyl mic pouch is included and in excellent shape. The soft pouch will keep the mic safe and snug while not in use and the top zipper closes as it should. A great accessory for resale purposes as well. MICROPHONE STAND IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY. Overall I would rate this mic an 8 + cosmetically speaking on a scale of 1 - 10. The real beauty of this mic is the sound it produces and I would recommend actually using this piece rather than for display. She's got plenty of life left in her. If you need one of the finest handheld mics of that era then this D330BT will do you justice. As with all my vintage microphone and related items... I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating. International buyers are welcome as well. Buyer must pay within 24 hours or an unpaid case will be opened and the item will be immediately relisted. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping. If you have any questions feel free to ask and...thanks for looking.
