Given that this watch is more than 45 years old and considering the movement shows no clear signs of ever having been serviced a complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended.***********This seldom seen vintage 1970's Hilton diver has a lovely glossy black "T SWISS MADE T" signed dial (majority of the imperfections seen are on the crystal, not the dial) and the original lume on the dial and hands, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully to a perfectly matching warm buttermilk hue. The black bezel, which shows wear and rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, presents nicely. The chrome-plated cushion case shows honest wear and brassing. The outside of the case back is stamped "SWISS MADE WATERPROOF 5 ATM STAINLESS STEEL BACK" with "ROVANO WATCH LTD." followed by "BASE METAL SWISS MADE" stamped on the inside of the case back. The crystal should be replaced.The 1 jewel unadjusted Swiss manual wind movement is clean, runs a bit fast and the date wheel rolls over at approximately 12 am. There is no quickset date function with this movement. After recently winding the non-screwdown, worn crown 23 full revolutions the movement ran about 3 minutes fast by the end of its approximate 35 hour power reserve period. Given that this watch is more than 45 years old and considering the movement shows no clear signs of ever having been serviced (there are no visible watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back or on the movement) a complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 36 mm excluding the crown, approximately 39 mm including the crown and approximately 18 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 7.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 8.5 mm. Given that the movement runs a bit fast and considering that it has likely never been serviced a complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended.
