Description: Vintage 1981 Ceramarte Avon History of Aviation Plane Aircraft Beer Stein Brazil***This listing is for the identical item shown in photos***From early times flying was among man’s lofty ambitions. The first human ascent recored took place on November 21, 1783, when the Montgolfier Balloon rose into the air and drifted five miles for twenty minutes over the outskirts of Paris. It wasn’t until 1903 that the age of powered and controlled planes had its real beginnings, the Wright Brothers managed twelve seconds in the air over a distance of 120 feet! All the rest is aviation history. If crossing a channel was impressive, transcontinental air service was awesome, indeed! In 1927, that feat was accomplished by the Ford Trio-Motor - the first plane to incorporate all metal construction and have the capacity to carry 12 passengers. With the appearance of the Waco Bi-plane, one of the first two seater sports planes, air stunts offered new thrills to spectators. And rides at air shows became a sport for the daring! And so the age of flight evolved and plane design grew more sophisticated. In 1931, the Sikorsky S-40 emerged … largest amphibian planes built in America and the first in a long prestigious line of Pan American Clippers. Not long after, the Piper Cub J-3 took off … the first and most popular fight plane made for the public in its time. This AVON “Flying Classics” ceramic stein represents many symbols of flying history and will be an interesting and attractive addition to your collection. Depicted on this strip are the Montgolfier Balloon (the first human ascent recorded), Wright Brothers, Louis Bleriot, Ford Tri-Motor, Waco Bi-Plane, Sikorsky S-40, and the Piper Cub J-3. And, as the stein is handcrafted no two are exactly alike.Product FeaturesSold as Used 24 oz (709 ml) 6" L x 4" W x 9½" HSerial No: 94579 Why Purchase From Us?We ship within 24 hours (usually within 12 hours or less, not including Weekends & Holidays)30 Day Return PolicyRapid Customer E-mail Response ServicesHigh Customer FeedbackProfessional & Secure PackagingAll Inventory Stored in a Smoke-Free, Temperature Controlled Facility
