Vintage 50s Fred Perlberg Lace Over Taffeta Full Skirt Party Prom Wedding Dress

(my choice of carrier) DESCRIPTION: This beautiful, mid-calf length 1950s' lace-over-taffeta dress by Fred Perlberg Dance Originals is a great party, prom, or wedding dress (as guest or bride). Crafted of white embroidered lace over light lilac taffeta and trimmed with a matching taffeta bow at the waist. Cap sleeves; seamed waist except at the front, which forms an unbroken front panel; metal zipper. The soft pleats at the waist fall into drapey folds. Shown with a double crinoline (not included). A fuller crinoline can be worn under the skirt if desired. Last photo shows dress without crinni. Note that the photos were originally taken against a darker background; the dark areas at skirt bottom are the backdrop showing through. Priced to account for issue noted below. SIZE: Unlabeled. Estimated at a modern 2. Fit my approx. size 2 mannequin perfectly. There's no stretch to the fabric, so leave room for fit ease. The armscyes on this are high and small, not uncommon in vintage garments; due to the simple side seams, I believe they could be deepened by a seamstress if needed. CONDITION: Overall excellent, but there's an issue that drops it to VG+. The zipper is broken about 3 1/2" from the bottom end. Actual break is about 1/2" long. The former owner solved this by tightly stitching that part of the zipper shut. There's still room to get into the dress, and the zipper works perfectly. I reinforced the stitches and stitched that part of the placket shut so that this area doesn't show on the outside.
