Description: Unusual Antique Accordion in fair condition for it's age. Possibly German made - not sure. It is 14" tall. A fellow E-bayer shared this information with me: I have a museum collection in Scotland and believe your accordion is probably a make called Plus Ultra - dont know if that is written on it anywhere. I have two similar and found a picture in a reference book dating them to about 1890. I believe it would have been made in Saxony which I think is now Germany. The bellows are in good shape. The sound is good. The reeds are made of some kind of metal. Unique metal cameos (4) on front. The three knobs on top are metal and glass. It is difficult to see without using a magnifying glass, but there are images under the glass. The first one appears to be a d one appears to be a house and water wheel, the second one is a Dutch windmill and the last one looks like a lions head (might be something else - not sure.) Three knobs on the buttons for the reeds are missing. The strap on the side is broken. I have no history on this unique accordion, but can only imagine the life it has lived. I struggle with parting with it, but am needing to downsize.
