Description: Measures approximately 8 inches long, 6 inches wide, and 4 1/4 inches tall to top of reptile’s fin. Great looking whimsical vintage studio art pottery figural beast / dinosaur / lizard / reptile covered butter dish. Decorated in a rich turquoise colored glaze accented with yellow polka dots. A finned dinosaur / reptile / monster is attached to the domed lid. Surface wear as seen in pictures. Multiple small chips are present on the edges of fin and also to the nose area. Black marks are evident on some of the chipped areas as possibly an attempt to to cover damaged areas. Despite the wear and bits of damage, this whimsical piece still displays nicely as is or would be worthy of a proper touch up paint restoration. Artist signature with date of 94 on underside.
