Description: This vintage/antique handmade & hand-chased Sterling brooch with a large, deep teal green Jade cabochon stone was owned by my mother, who would have been age 92 now. During her retirement years, she maintained booths at antique malls in Greenville SC & Hendersonville NC and always had some beautiful, vintage pieces in her jewelry cases. This brooch’s design features a large central stone as the hero, and is reminiscent of the Art Deco / Art Moderne influences of American ex-pat silversmiths who worked in Taxco, Mexico 1930’s-1960’s, such as William Spratling & Frederick Davis. While this brooch is clearly stamped STERLING, it is otherwise unsigned.
