Description: We offer this Murano gold fleck lamp with pink roses on brass base with roses. This lamp is being offered without the shade, as shade is just for display purposes and greatly increases cost of shipping. Dimensions: height including the socket and finial 29 inches tall, diameter at widest part of base 7 inches. This lamp base is executed in 'avventurina': an old, yet complicated technique to infuse glass with very small gold & silver (colored) particles, thus creating the subtle look of gold & silver dust. The Seguso family has been active in glass manufacturing since the 14th century and is inseparably linked to the history of the Venetian island of Murano. Seguso Vetri d'Arte founded in 1933 by Napoleone Barovier, Luigi Ferro and Antonio Seguso. Employing prominent glass artists like Archimede Seguso and Flavio Poli, the company soon became - and still is - one of the most prominent Venetian glass makers. Lamp is in very good vintage condition no chips, no cracks. Brass base has a bit of surface rust as seen in close up photo. Felt on underside of lamp has a tear. Lamp is in original condition.
