THE CLOCK AND WATCH STORE Click images to enlarge Description Maker: Basis Watch Company c.1970's early 80's Model: "Seiko Museum" Condition: This listing is for a vintage men's gold colored wristwatch with mesh style bracelet and was made by Basis Watch Company. It has a 1 jewel mechanical hand winding movement with a sunburst cross-hair dial signed Seiko and has a single white stone at the 12 position. We all know it is NOT a Seiko though. This watch has not been serviced in quite sometime and has been sitting in a parts box for at least the last 30 years. The original acrylic crystal is missing and the watch comes without a crystal. The watch does run and keep time however, it will not stay running and it is being sold as a non-running watch due to the unknowns. I only state it is running so you know that the balance staff is good and the mechanics are functioning. It winds and sets smoothly. The gold plated case has very little wear to the plating and mainly just looks dirty. There is some wear through on the edges of the lugs and a little on the bracelet and may get worse if polished. The bracelet is signed Hong Kong and probably from the late 70's. Watch probably just needs a routine cleaning/oiling and adjusting along with a crystal and would be a bit of history considering this is probably a very early, if not some of the first reproductions of Seiko watches. I take great care in packaging all the items being sold but, I especially take extra precautions when packing clocks. I do everything I can to prevent your clock arriving damaged. Due to rising costs and some areas no longer being the rates they used to be, I no longer will offer large wall clocks with free shipping.
