Description: This is a Belsnickel Santa on a wire frame with a clay face. Please zoom in on the pictures, which are part of this description. I found this Santa sitting in an estate collection, and based on the wear, I believe most of his life was spent sitting on a shelf. In the sitting position, he is about 4.5 inches high and about 4 inches from his back to his boots. Note the red berry ornament hanging from the branch he's holding. The berry could become detached during shipping and will have to be re-glued to the branch. His trouser have faded, but they were originally blue as shown on his back and partially on the front. The seam is split in the sitting area, and the material is thin at his knees and pulled open at his left boot.Although there are no markings, I believe he was made in Germany.
