Devised by Samuel Plimsoll, the Plimsoll Mark is affixed to the hull of merchant ships to indicate the maximum depth to which the vessel may be safely immersed when loaded with cargo. Attractive gold-printed emblem. Glass is in excellent unused condition; no chips, scratches, or cracks. Measures 4-5/4inches in height, 2-3/4 inches diameter at the top, and 2-1/4" in diameter at the base. Circa 1970s. Manufactured by Libbey Glass.
