Description: Surf’s up, brah! The famous Teisco Sharkfin, sporting its three-pickup configuration and in bold fire engine red. All electronics work exactly as they should, and there is no unexpected humming anywhere. Guitar is also physically nice and tight, with just a little bit of acoustic buzzing here and there down under the pickguard and controls (it IS a Teisco after all…). Nothing objectionable. All original or correct parts. One volume knob is a “Tone” knob with its insert flipped over. “Ashtray” tremolo cover is long gone. The tremolo spring on this model fits into a hollow in the body ~3/4” deep, thus requiring a very long screw that I could not find. Instead, I neatly plugged the hole with a hardwood dowel to allow use of a conventional Bigsby-sized screw. Tightly fitted but NOT glued in, so it’s removable if you ever find an original screw. Excellent condition cosmetically, with the color strong and bold, and just a few dings as shown in pics. You can feel a slight line/ridge along the back of the neck, but there’s no crack of any kind there. It seems to be nothing more than the thick finish reflecting the underlying wood seam along what is likely a three-piece neck. BTW, the neck is straight, and the fretboard is flat. Frets are just a little bit flattened, but there’s plenty of life left and they’re not sharp. Unwound strings can occasionally wiggle in the nut slots at the zero fret, but nothing that’ll bother you, especially when you’re playing electric. Nice dimestore tone from the pups, and they do a punky incarnation of a Strat, including the phasey blended positions. Non-original softshell case. NOTE: USA regulations under the CITES convention (trade in endangered species) have finally been loosened to allow easy international shipping of vintage instruments, unless they contain BRAZILIAN r******d (Dahlbergia nigra). Unfortunately, I cannot really tell whether the fretboard is Brazilian, so it still cannot be shipped internationally without an expensive and time-consuming permit process.UPDATE: Ebay now demands that we sellers give THIRTY DAYS for returns. Any honest buyer will know within a few days whether there is any need for a return. I no longer take returns through Ebay, but I will never "stick" another musician with a guitar. Please contact me if there any problems, and we'll work it out.
