For Your American Folk Art Collection-GooseStanB1 Details Description: A nice primitive folk art small carved solid wood sculpture in the form of what we believe is a Canada Goose with spread wings. The body and wings of the goose is dark brown with black highlights, while its neck and head are black with a white spot at the end of the neck. The chest and the entire bottom of the goose is white in color. The goose's legs and feet are attached to a raw unpainted wood base. The body shows no detail except for a general shape of a goose with a long neck and a beak. The wings have a curved front and toothed back. The bottom of the base is signed in ink "Stan B." The piece is undated. A nice primitive wood carving that is well done and worthy of a spot in your collection of primitive wood carvings. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description. Date: Unknown. Origin: Purchased at an estate auction in Southern New Jersey. Size: The base measures ~4 1/4" by ~2 3/4" and the piece is ~3 1/2" in height. The piece weighs about 2 ounces. Maker: Unknown. Marks: signed in ink on the bottom of "Stan B."
