Description: Vintage Celtic Band Tan & Brown HOLKHAM Studio Pottery Jug ca. 1960 by Cyril Ruffles With Holkham ink stamp to base and signed with initials CR (Cyril Ruffles) With central Celtic band decoration Condition very good Height 13cm, width 10cm The pottery was established at Holkham Hall, Norfolk in 1951 Base mark with ostrich inside two concentric circles. Before 1961 the mark said 'Hand made in' inside the inner circle and 'Holkham Pottery, Norfolk England' between the two circles. After 1961 'Made in England' appears within the inner circle and 'Holkham Pottery Ltd, Norfolk' between the circles.
