Description: This sale is for a vintage- 1950's-1960's Chairman Mao waving hand Communist Party propaganda mechanical clock. The clock is used but in good condition. I would not rely on it to keep accurate time. It could use a servicing, but I have only ever displayed it. It also has a wind-up alarm that work as well. This clock has a round face with a chrome bezel. The face measures about 3-1/4 inches in diameter, and has regular numerals 1-12 around the face, but is also over-set with a transparent plexiglass dial that has additional numerals 3, 6, 9, & 12,with diamonds in the plexi for the numbers in-between. The artwork on the face features a smiling Chairman Mao in rays in the upper right with a crowd of youthful party members waving his Little Red Book. The arm of a girl in the foreground moves with the seconds movement in a waving motion with the book in hand. The clock an overall maximum diameter of 5 inches, a red-painted housing and chrome stand. SHIPS FREE in the US.
